Who knew?! Feist took the Polaris Prize for Metals! Okay! Sure!
It’s both a surprise and not at the same time.

An underdog by no means, Feist has been well loved since she began Mushabooming her way into our hearts. And then there was the iPod ad, making her a house hold name. No reminder needed, The Reminder was a huge success and many thought she’d take home the Polaris Prize when nominated in 2007. When Metals came out, it stood in The Reminder’s shadow. When shortlisted, the majority of critics wrote it off - as Feist was now an old friend  and not necessarily anything new and flashy. She was a warn in sweater that’s comfy and cozy. A nice warm cup of tea. Perhaps that is why the jury decided to award her the prize… Either way you cannot doubt the discussions Polaris brings to the table. 

I’m interested to see how Feist spends her $30,000…
